Justin Paul

Justin Paul is in a sense the renaissance man of electronic music.
It’s not just that he’s an experienced DJ and producer or because of

his successful run as the founder and CEO of Philadelphia, PA based
Playloop Records. Rather, Justin Paul is revered more than most other

electronic dance music entrepreneurs because he works feverishly to
create a vehicle where all electronic dance music genres can share one
roof. In years past, it would be considered uncouth to pair artists
ranging from techno, house, breaks, drum n’ bass and even dance rock
on the same label. However, diversity is at the heart of why Paul’s
Playloop Records has seen a meteoric rise in business since the
release of it’s critically acclaimed debut label compilation, 2007’s
“Get Into The Loop Vol. 1“

While it was just a small glimpse into exciting Playloop artists such

as Kezner and DJ Everyday, “Get Into The Loop Vol. 1″ was favorably
reviewed in several top dance music magazines including Remix, Big
Shot and DJ Times. Speaking of DJ Times, Justin Paul struck up a great
friendship with the magazine’s editor Jim Tremayne and was a guest
speaker / performer at the “DJ Times DJ Expo” in both 2007 and 2008.
Paul was also featured alongside King Britt as part of the DJ Times
sponsored “America’s Best DJ” contest and tour when it stopped in
Philadelphia during the summer 2007 campaign
Justin Paul and his band of Playloop artists have also found great
success with fans on the “jam band” and “Burning Man” circuits. A New
Year’s Eve 2008 performance in Philadelphia with the Disco Biscuits
and others drew critical praise for the Playloop crew. In fact,
Jambase writer Jake Krolick wrote “Playloop recording artists Justin
Paul, Kezner and DJ Everyday were easily equal to, if not better, than
all of Bassnectar’s hype.” In addition to DJing two consecutive years
at Burning Man, Justin Paul also hit the festival circuit with DJ
performances at SXSW and the 2008 installment of Camp Bisco. Justin
Paul held his own alongside the heavyweight talents of The Disco
Biscuits, Snoop Dog, MSTRKFT, Deadmau5 and DJ Shadow, among others.

Since it’s never good to be too far away from Philadelphia and it’s
rich musical heritage, Justin Paul pays extra special attention to his
adopted home. During the spring of 2007 Playloop began hosting it’s
own successful series of monthly parties in the City Of Brotherly
Love. This has provided the label with an opportunity to showcase both
it’s local heroes such as drum n bass king Ross D and overseas talent
including Germany’s Microstar. A September 2008 installment of the
event will see Playloop team up with Philly’s own singer/songwriting
sensation Natalie Walker for a genre defying evening. These monthly
party’s provide Playloop with a great space to take some risks and
introduce acts of the future. Enter THE MODEL.

With a desire to expand the Playloop repertoire Justin Paul made the
bold decision to sign local electronic rock act The Model and release

its debut CD “Physical” in the fall 2008. Already being compared to a
cross between U2, Nine Inch nails, INXS, Depeche Mode and The Killers,
“Physical” is a stunning debut release filled with numerous hits. A
companion remix EP with follow the release of “Physical” and it will скачать порно фото юных малолеток
feature Playloop’s signature dancefloor interpretations of the
original tracks. A video for the first single, “I Won’t Be Hanging Out
Anymore,” will be directed by Justin Paul.
